The junior high one act play is rehearsing “Radium Girls” by D.W. Gregory. It will be performed on Nov. 13 for the school and will be performed on Nov. 14 in  Seymour for the district contest.

The play is about the female factory workers who contracted radiation poisoning from painting watch dials with self-luminous paint, which started as early as 1917.

“We have a very good play this year and a strong group,“ Director Becky Nogle said. “The play is usually done by high schoolers. Our junior high is going to receive a high school-level experience.”

Eighth grader Fallon Blair said the cast is doing really well.

“We are making a lot of progress,” Blair said.

Eighth grader Candace Taggart said that the cast are going to do great this year.

“We will do better in front of judges because we will learn from our mistakes that we may make,” Taggart said.

Mrs. Nogle also said the cast are going to give their best and she wants the kids to enjoy their experience.

“We want them to come back for OAP next year,” Mrs.Nogle said. “We hope to get top three, and if we don’t, everyone had really good plays that day.”
