“The Adam Project,” directed by Shawn Levy, is a well written action movie.
The cast includes, Ryan Reynolds (Adam Reed), Walker Scobell (12-year-old Adam Reed), Zoe Saldana (Laura Shane), Jennifer Garner (Ellie Reed), Mark Ruffalo (Louis Reed), and Catherine Keener (Maya Sorian).
The cast did a great job at bringing the characters to life. They executed the story line very well and did a flawless job at making a wholesome and unique Netflix film.
The cinematography, acting, and directing really brought it all together. The film has the right amount of emotion and seriousness as well as humor without making any of the scenes seem forced or unnatural.
The film starts with young Adam getting suspended from school for a few days because of his loud mouth. His mother Ellie mentions that he is still dealing with the loss of his father.
When Ellie is out on a date, older Adam accidentally travels to 2022 from 2050. He crashes in the forest behind his house where younger Adam finds him.
Older Adam explains that in 2050 time travel exists and that he’s trying to go to 2018 to stop their dad from ever creating time travel. During their journey younger Adam realizes that he hasn’t treated his mother well since his father died.
When they find their father and explain to him the situation, older Adam realizes that he never really mourned his father; he just turned that emotion into anger. After they all destroy his work, they have an emotional moment that would make anyone think about their parents and how they treat them.
