The No. 1 game in the world, Fortnite, has recently been updated and brought back to its former glory by adding the OG season.
It took away a lot of the items we were used to. Usually, when a new season comes out, players get new guns and POIs, but this time Epic sent us back the guns and POIs from Season 5 which have made a come back including the most popular POIs of Season 5: Tilted Towers, Salty Springs, and Dusty Divot.
The items from Season 5 that were brought back include the bush, pump shotgun, golden scar, and tactical shotgun. The Season 5 throwback ended on Nov. 9.
The next update released brought us a little further into the present day with Season 6. Although this update did not bring a lot of new POIs, it did bring back the porta fortress, quad crasher, and hoverboard.
In newer news, the rocket has begun construction on Dusty Divot. The rocket will launch on Dec. 2, 2023, and will lead into the next season along with a live concert held by Eminem.
Eminem’s concert started Dec. 2, 2023, at 1 p.m., lasted 15 minutes, and led into the newest season.
The Chapter 5 Season 1 – Underground season started with a completely new weapon and movement system.
This update has completely revamped the Fortnight map and map movement. The map has a larger winter biome along with large rivers and streams going through it. The movement in the season has also changed. A train has appeared on the map and once entered, players have the chance to open the chest on the train.
Some of the vehicles available are the dirt bike and Grandeur Trailsmasher SUV. Along with the new cars, there are new bosses including Oscar, Nisha, Montage, Valeria, and Peter Griffin.
There are also drop mythic guns and medallions. The medallions will give the player a shield over time. However, the game marks the player with a medallion on the map via a golden ring showing the vicinity in which they are. Collecting more of these medallions will shrink the golden circle.
One of the main things that has angered the community is the new movement system. When the new season was launched, people noticed that the running animation had been changed. Also, all other movement strategies experienced this change.
Epic decided to throw the Fortnight audience a curve ball by adding Lego to their game. This is a separate game mode from Battle Royale. It is said to be an open world with a lot of new features.
A great portion of the Fortnite community has had concerns about skins. Epic said that they will be converting the skins into their Lego form. The only issue is that collab skins will not be changed due to copyright issues. Beyond that, not a lot is currently known about this new mode.
