The movie, “The Fall Guy,” was released in theaters on May 3. The director, David Leitch, is known for his work directing “Deadpool 2” and “Atomic Blonde.”
The movie is categorized into the genres of action, comedy, crime fiction, thriller, drama, adventure and suspense. It stars Ryan Gosling as Colt Seavers, Emily Blunt as Jody Moreno and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Howie.
After a famous movie star went missing , Colt Seavers goes back into the business of being a stunt double after leaving a year before. He gets hired as a stunt double for Tom Ryder on a film his ex-girlfriend is directing.
“The Fall Guy” is based on the 1980s series, of the same name. Although the movie is based on a series from the 1980s, this movie is a little different from the series and it shows a few different elements. One of these different elements is camera quality. The technology that is used nowadays is more advanced than the technology from 1980s.
“The Fall Guy” was shot in Sydney, Australia. “The film is proof Sydney can carry an action film, with so many beautiful environments,” Leitch said, in an interview with 7NEWS.com.au.
Some points of interest the movie was filmed on were the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Both of the landmarks were closed down and blocked off for the film. Harbour Bridge was closed down from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. so they could film the movie. This irritated many people who had to deal with traffic delays.
Leitch and Stunts Unlimited President Chris O’Hara constructed in-camera stunt sequences together instead of using a green screen and visual effects. The film producers that made “The Fall Guy” could’ve used CGI like all the other movie makers but instead they decided to make real stunts. And they even broke a stunt record with the movie. The whole cast agreed and said that the movie was “a love letter to stunt performers” and that they also deserve an Oscar for the stunts they did in the movie according to https://screenrant.com.
In conclusion to this movie review, “The Fall Guy” is an interesting movie that is definitely worth watching. It is already different from the other movies because the filmmakers made their own in-camera stunts without the use of CGI.
