FFA members will end the year with their banquet on May 20 at Grace Church.
“We will award students for their excellence in this year,” FFA sponsor Ryan Crafton said.
Junior Victoria Foster said she is excited for this event.
“I am happy to see everyone get their awards,” Foster said.
Members of the wildlife team, juniors Karla Priebe, Victoria Foster, Luke Deerinwater and senior Zayne Foster participated in the area meet on April 9.
“The team did all right. They placed top half in area,” Crafton said. “They placed 36 out of 72 in area.”
Overall the team placed third in district.
“I think we could have done better in area,” Zayne Foster said. “It was my last year as team captain of the wildlife team. We definitely improved from last year.”
For the dairy team sophomores Shooter Canada, Brody Reneau, freshman Brilee Canada and senior Chase Curry competed in area on April 10.
“The team also did good in area,” Crafton said. “They also placed third.”
FFA members participated in the a district banquet on April 16 at Iowa Park. Students were given awards for their accomplishments this year.
“Freshman Noah Madsen, sophomore Sam Gilmore, juniors Karla (Priebe), Victoria (Foster), Zoey (Bates) and senior Zayne (Foster) were the ones who went,” Crafton said.
Victoria Foster said she had fun at Iowa Park.
“We went to the banquet to vote for district and area officers. We listened to their speeches and played games to pass time in between voting and results,” Foster said. “We also got the banners for our wildlife and dairy cattle teams that placed.”
