With summer right around the corner, and the school year coming to an end, it’s becoming the last moments of high school for seniors.
Senior trips are a way for students to make their last memories with their classmates.
Students and class sponsors had meetings to discuss trips so everyone was able to elaborate their own plans and ideas for the trip. All seniors were able to contribute their ideas and where they would like to go for a trip.
Planning for a whole class of students to take a trip takes time. Class sponsors have to meet up together months ahead to establish a plan.
“We started planning Jan. 20,” senior class sponsor LeeAnne Warren said. “We got together and had a class meeting. Each kid got to vote where they wanted to go.”
The class went on their first trip on May 1 to Top Golf.
“I was excited to spend a whole day with my friends, and see how bad we are at golf,” senior Artem Clay said.
Planning a trip for an entire class comes with challenges, Warren said.
“Finding an age-appropriate place to visit with all the seniors was the most difficult part,” Warren said.
Not only do the seniors have a chance to take a senior trip with the school and their class, but some take one with their family or friends as well to celebrate.
“Me and my friend group are going on a trip together to Arlington,” Clay said. “We’ve had this planned since the beginning of senior year.”
A trip to celebrate seniors’ achievements for making it through all years of school is something Kambri David said she was looking forward to taking.
“I was ready to laugh a lot with my friends,” David said. “It was funny watching each other play golf and miss the balls.”
