Watching the “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” film is an experience I’ll never forget, nor would I want to.
Since the movie’s release in theaters on Dec. 20 of last year, the movie has grossed over $423 million while carrying on only a $122 million budget.
The film itself is a masterpiece along with it’s entire franchise. As well as the many other movies, it’s a perfect balance between action and comedy, with many more amazing things as well.
The film includes many references from its own fandom, including Snapcube, a need-to-be-careful consideration from the producers themselves. The third movie includes “Live and Learn,” the main theme of Sonic Adventure 2.
The sound track also has an original song, “Run It” by Jelly Roll, for the end credits. Many view the song as a place deserving in between “Speed Me Up” in third and “Stars in the Sky” in first, but I love the song for how it portrays Sonic’s childish mentality, expressing that despite how many times he saves the world, he’s still a kid in the end.
The movie introduces Shadow The Hedgehog, voiced by Keanu Reeves, referencing the first movie when the Wachowskis were watching “Speed.”
Another reference to the “Speed” movie is when Ivo Robotnik, otherwise known as the Eggman we know from the franchise, meets Gerald Robotnik, his grandfather.
Despite that Jim Carrey had pulled himself out of retirement for the movie, he doesn’t plan on sticking around.
For fans of Sonic, the film is worth watching, and is now streaming on Apple, Amazon, Paramount+ and Fandango at Home.
