Since Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, couples are getting ready to express their love to their significant others. Whether through acts of services, words of affirmation,or by simply holding hands, people everywhere show their love in different ways known as love languages.
Teachers and students show their love even if they are single.
Freshman Tanner Deerinwater draws pictures for his family members to show his love.
“I usually draw pictures for my friends,” Deerinwater said. “My drawings are usually a little weird but it makes my friends laugh.”
Coach Tyler Own shows his love to his wife by giving her time to herself.
“I take the kids out of the house sometimes,” Owen said. “It gives her some ‘me time’ to relax.”
Another student, senior Malia Jones, gives gifts to show her affection.
“Giving my loved ones gifts makes me happy and them happy,” Jones said. “It makes them feel seen and shows that I really care for them.”
Sophomore Addison Canada has multiple love languages.
“Words of affirmation, physical touch and quality time are my top three,” Canada said. “I spend lots of time with my partner to show him how much he means to me.”
English teacher Savannah Grisham, also has more than one love language.
“Spending quality time with my significant other makes me feel loved,” Grisham said. “Acts of service help me feel like my partner really sees who I am and what I enjoy.”
Freshman Kynlee Dodson shows her admiration in a different way.
“I love to stalk my boyfriend’s socials and be clingy,” Dodson said. “Showing him I care is my way of expressing my feelings.”
Freshman Elyse Reeve, uses words of affirmation to show her partner love.
“I give him compliments when he is feeling insecure,” Reeve said. “Talking him through tough things helps him feel loved.”
