Although I could get into the general aspect of nerdcore, I would like to remain in the vicinity of my favorite artist, Divide Music.
He started making music under the inspiration of his friend Fabvl, a nerdcore rapper. A few of their collaborations include “Believe,” “Burn it Down” and “CRØWNED.”
Divide Music’s audible works usually revolves around video games and series characters, giving the core aspect of what may be viewed as being a nerd, but he also has originals too, his most recent being “MAYDAY!”
I am a huge fan of his music, but not just because he makes music based on topics I enjoy, but also his voice and how he uses a different range for the different genres he uses in his separate songs.
Alex Graham, Divide Music’s non-artist name, has an angelic voice, smooth and mesmerizing, which is displayed in “Move Mountains,” “Re/Align” and “3000.”
He also has a harsh metal scream in his more rock-like songs like “Down&Under,” “Burn It To The Ground” and “OUTCAST.”
The best part about his masterpieces is that he often uses both of these ranges in his songs. A couple of examples including “always hated goodbyes” and “DesigN.”
Graham’s first song, “Bedroom,” was released in 2017, inspired by the game “The Joy Of Creation,” a fanmade game inspired by the commonly beloved “Five Nights at Freddy’s.”
Overall, I don’t have six YouTube Music badges for being one of his top listeners for the sake of it, but because his music means a lot to me. His music is more than just for entertainment. Divide’s music is calm and relaxing, yet so full of energy. If home was a mental state, his music has that title in my book- it’s where I go to feel grounded, understood and at peace.
