Future Farmers of America participate in creed contest

The Future Farmers of America competed in Vernon Nov. 9 and have received their animals for the county show at Fort Worth.

Freshman Jack Herring placed fifth out of 17 schools in the FFA creed contest.

“It was hard because I had to study front and back of the creed  and went to Mrs. [Becky] Nogle for help,” freshman Jack Herring said. “After the contest I felt like I did the best I could and just waited for my results.”

The girls quiz team of freshman Shaylee Watson, Breanna Howard, Mikayla Jones, and Morgan Veitenheimer placed 11th out of 17 teams.

“I looked at and studied old quizzes and also read the Future Farmers of America handbook to refresh my memory,” freshman Morgan Veitenheimer said. “I felt pretty confident but nervous at the same time to find out about how I did on the quiz.”

The Archer County show will be on Jan. 6th and the sale will be on Jan. 7th. Freshman Kelbin Coleman is showing in the county show and is preparing his animals.
