The Ladycats continued their winning streak through the playoffs all the way to the state semi-finals. They lost to the Crawford Lady Pirates who took the gold. The semi-final game marked the third return of the Ladycats to the state championships.

The girls felt they had unfinished business said junior Sam Clements.

“We didn’t do what we set out to do,” Clements said. “I’m honored I won the Texas Girls Coaches Association All State Honors Award but I would’ve preferred the ring.”

Senior Sierra Mooney said she agreed with Clements.

“I’m glad we made it back but hate but HATE that we didn’t end the season with a ring,” Mooney said.

Senior Lauren Castles said the Ladycats ended pretty well even with the lose.

“No one thought we could make it back from how we looked at the being of the season,” Castles said. “We proved people wrong, but it stinks we couldn’t finish.”

Senior Abby Aulds said they all wanted to end with a state championship.

“I’m so happy for all the wonderful memories I’ve made with the girls,” Aulds said.
