Dancing, playing sports, drawing. These are all things that students said brings them the most joy.

Volleyball is what brings senior Lauren Castles the most joy.

“I love play to volleyball,” Castles said. “I’m so glad that I get to continue to play in college.”

For junior Madyson Martin church is the most joyous part of her week

“Going to church with my friends is my favorite part of the week,” Martin said. “Doing that definitely brings me the most joy.”

Friends are also a part of bringing junior Jesica Crouse joy.

“Being around friends who love and support me is joyful,” Crouse said. “I know I wouldn’t be who I am without them.”

While some students prefer a human companion to bring them joy, senior Emily Jones prefers her show bunnies.

“I enjoy showing my bunnies,” Jones said. “You get to raise them and bond with them, it’s really fun.”

For sophomore Kelbin Coleman it’s not raising animals that is fun for him, it’s hunting them.

“Hunting makes me happy,” Coleman said. “Being out in nature is calming.”

Sophomore Lindy Reid enjoys eating the animals because it makes her happy to eat.

“Canes chicken is my favorite fast food restaurant,” Reid said. “It brings me a lot of joy when I’m feeling down.”

Drawing is something that eighth grader Casyn Little said she does often, but her goofy drawings are what she enjoys the most.

“I doodle a lot,” Little said. “It brings me joy because sometimes they turn out really funny looking.”

Sophomore Avery Williams is happiest when she is around children.

“I love to be around kids,” Williams said. “They are always so happy and full of energy. I don’t know how anyone can be around kids and not feel an overwhelming amount of joy.”

Like Williams, sophomore Morgan Essary said that kids bring her joy. Not just any kid though, but her niece.

“My niece is always waiting on me when I get home,” Essary said. “She gets so excited when I get there that she starts jumping and yelling my name.”

Sophomore Alyssa Casillas said she has her little sister waiting for her everyday to make her happy.

“She has such a huge personality,” Casillas said. “It’s hard not to be happy when you are around her.”

Junior Susie Mangum said that she feels the most joyful when she is praying.

“Praying brings me peace,” Mangum said. “It’s the best feeling ever.”

When sophomore Desiree Biggers is worshipping, she said, is when she feels the most joy.

“I am in total connection with Christ when I’m worshipping,” Biggers said. “I can block everything that’s happening in my life out and be fully in God’s presence.”
