The Future Farmers of America dairy and horse judging teams have been preparing for the meet in hopes to do well.

Clifton Russell is readying the students but is having trouble meeting them.

“Once I can get a hold of the rest of them, things should get on track,” Mr. Russell said.

Sophomore Blake Dunkel is getting ready for the judging on his own time as well.

“I judge through 4H as well, and while I’m at home too,” Dunkel said.

A member of the dairy judging team, senior Lauren Castles is working to keep up the pace while practicing with Mr. Russell.

“The second event I did was very good compared to my first,” Castles said. “It has its ups and downs but I do my best to stay on top of it. I practice by looking at cattle Mr. Russell has and I just do that constantly. I like to believe that I’m improving fairly well and that’s what I’m going to keep doing.”

Sophomore Breanna Howard is also a dairy judging member and she said that progress is coming along.

“It’s been feeling slow but with the two events I’ve been to, I can definitely see the improvement,” Howard said.
