The junior high one act play performed “Radium Girls” by D.W. Gregory, and won first place at the district contest on Nov. 13 in Seymour.

Eighth grader Kadence Huffman was named Best Actress. Eighth graders Kelsey Aultman and Camryn Cox were selected for All Star Cast.

Seventh grader Kole Stovall was named Best Light Technician. Stovall, Rebecca Taggart, Sara Schroeder, Justine Neely and Brianna Howard received Best Overall Crew.

Huffman said that they put on their best performance at district.

“I think we did really good and it was the best we had done all year,” Huffman said. “Next year the upcoming eighth graders will help out the soon-to-be seventh graders.Eighth grader

Eighth grader Fallon Blair said he enjoyed performing.

“This year was a lot of fun because I had a better role than last year,” Blair said. “All the actors improved from last year.”

Director  Haley Owen said she was pleased with the students.

“When faced with adversity at contest, they acted like true professionals. I’m so proud of them,” Mrs. Owen said. “You never want to be over confident, but we knew we had good show. We don’t know who will return next year, but if the seventh graders return, we should have a strong cast.”
