After the playoff drive last year, the Wildcats hope to advance even farther this season.

“Since we only lost one senior after last year’s season, we expect to be able to get things done on the court when it is most needed,” Coach Andrew Morris said.

Even with a large amount of seniors, there are still younger players as well.

“We have a few sophomores and juniors that I need to be able to depend on when it comes game time and whenever we get tired they keep going,” Morris said.

The team has had a lack of practice time with  the  football season’s late ending this year.

“We are facing very many games with very little practice time,” senior Kolbi Cox said.

With only ten players this year they are limited.

“We do not have very many players this year compared to previously so we are depending on some younger players to step up,” Cox said.

There has been changes in the way they play on the court for the season.

“We are really trying to stay intense throughout the whole game and speed up the game when it’s possible,” Cox said.

Some of the football players  switched right from football to basketball.

“The team is struggling remembering the plays and defenses from last year,” senior Jacob Wilhelm said

The young players on the team are being depended on by all of the older players.

“I expect the younger players that we have with us to be able to compete in the tough games just as well as the normal ones early on for them to get a good amount of playing time later on,” Wilhelm said.
