FCA uses pizza to encourage participants

The group of Future Christian Athletes and other students participated in a pizza party on Feb. 13 before Valentine’s Day.

FCA sponsor Haley Owen said the attendance number was greater than the average number from previous meetings every week throughout the year.

“The turnout to the pizza party was higher than expected because of the low numbers in regular weekly meetings,” Mrs. Owen said.

The pizza party had a Valentine’s Day lesson about  a person who students truly care about on Valentine’s Day. Freshman Kyleigh Kinzie said she took away a thoughtfulness for her family.

At the pizza party, the lesson was centered over who you truly care about most on Valentine’s Day. I truly care about my family and God above all else.

“At the pizza party, the lesson was centered over who you truly care about most on Valentine’s Day,” Kinzie said. “I truly care about my family and God above all else.”

Mrs. Owen said that the pizza helped entice students to come to an FCA event and hopefully, to encourage more students in to attend weekly meetings for the rest of the school year.

“Pizza and other food is a good motivator when it comes to this year’s FCA numbers because of the low average of students that come to meetings during the week,” Mrs. Owen said.
