Teens Make a Difference Day was on Oct. 23. Students were put into “teams of teens” and were assigned into what they were doing.
Sponsor Lee Ann Warren said she hoped that 35-40 students would attend to help in the community.
“It is a good way to get student body involved in community service,” Warren said. “It’s Saturday in the fall when the teens do community service, typically helping in the Archer City community in various ways.”
Warren also said that they help in service centers or in library beautification projects. And that this year would be their 8th year to do Teens Make A Difference.
“It is great that a group of students decide to give up a Saturday to help their community,” senior Cherith Meek said.
Meek also said that she has been picking up trash for the last couple of years, so she “hoped” to try something new this year.
“We talk with the community to see what they need,” Meek said. By doing so they meet with the community to accomplish their needs.
“I enjoyed that I got to help my community and get to meet new people,” senior Natalya Walker said.
Freshman Victoria Foster said that doing Teens Make a Difference was an “awesome experience.”
“It is really fun because you get to do it with other people,” Foster said.
