Summer is right around the corner which means summer sports are about to start.
Summer league is put together for students to compete and stay in shape during the summer while playing their favorite sport.
“I like summer league because I feel like it helps us get better and gets us ready for the season,” sophomore Caitlyn Hilbers said.
Normally each sport plays for a month with different teams around the district.
“I think it helps improve skills because you get a lot of reps in and more playing time,” Junior Jill Liles said.
Liles’ favorite summer sport is the Windthorst summer league volleyball. She Said summer league helps to get her prepared for the regular season.
Freshman Landon Smith said, “It helps us have better core vision and better chemistry with each other,”
The students have fun being together and especially when they may not have been able to see each other for a while.
“I enjoy being around our whole team and just having fun playing together,” Hilbers said.
