The Future Farmers of America are preparing for their upcoming events in October.

“We will be taking first year agricultural students to the Greenhand camp. They will go and learn leadership, communication and several more activities,” FFA sponsor Tanner Hash said. “We also have the Leadership Development Events [LED’s] coming up in October as well. This is where students get to create situations for members to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision making, communication and their knowledge of agricultural.”
Hash said that his goals for this year’s FFA are that he wants to go beyond with the LED’s.
First-year agricultural student, and sophomore Karla Priebe said she is content to be part of FFA.
“I am going to a shooting stock show. This is the first year that FFA is doing it for me,” Priebe said. “My first competition will be on October 8th at Rangers Defenders in Fort Worth.”
Priebe said she prepares for her event by practicing on Wednesdays after school and on Saturdays.
“My goal this year is to hit my 25 in skeet,” Priebe said.
Junior Elijah Foster said he prepares for his wildlife event by going outside and looking at plants.
“In my free time I like to go outdoors and look at plants and I will even try them sometime, but I do not try ones that I know are dangerous,” Foster said. “My goals for this year is to teach my wildlife team everything that is needed to know about it and maybe go to state.”

“I really hope that we will have more success at district and area level with our LED’s,” Hash said.
