Living in a small town, it can be hard to find things to do in those finally free moments from school and extracurriculars. Not everybody has cars or gas money to go to Wichita every time they want to have some fun; however, Archer has more than what meets the eye and plenty of ways friends can have a good time.
Going on walks is one way to get out of the house. When taking the town in slow, Archer has a lot to see and to admire. Not to mention, it is a great way to get some exercise and become closer with nature. A walk may seem boring, but the changing scenery helps stems many conversations for people and their friends. Also getting away from a little technology allows people’s creativity to shine more, so they won’t be at a loss for things to say or do while on their walk. If people are wanting even more exercise since it releases endorphins, bike rides with friends are the way to go. It is all the benefits of a walk with more exercise.
Secondly, to the people who do love driving, but maybe can’t leave town for a variety of reasons, one way to bond with their friends is simply getting in a car and going for a drive around town. It sounds simple, but can be made into a really good time. One way to make the experience is listening to music. Friends can bond over their favorite artists’ new albums or sing their hearts out to let go of any feelings. Without making solid and/or complicated plans, an opportunity for people to use their imagination is provided. Finding ways to stay entertained builds a stronger, more intact relationship with friends as well. Of course all this is done while following all driving and road laws.
Archer also has several places to eat in town. Enjoying a meal at Murn’s Cafe, Lucky’s Cafe and/or Dairy Queen is an adequate way to share some time with friends. Not to mention, Dairy Queen is a landmark in Archer because of Archer’s famous author Larry McMurtry.
Taking a step back to appreciate what’s around them, people can see that Archer has plenty of opportunities for a good time.
