The district celebrated homecoming week with a pep rally on Oct. 6 followed by a homecoming meal on Oct. 8.
Junior Estefani Zea was crowned homecoming queen at the varsity football game on Oct. 6.
Zea was escorted by junior Ryan Cantu.
“It was all right. I was pretty scared,” Cantu said.
On Oct. 8, the junior class hosted a homecoming meal.
“The homecoming meal turned out good. A lot of people showed up and the junior class raised a lot of money from it,” junior Kate Fletcher said. “I think everything was great.”
Fletcher said they made $4,100 from the meal.
“The junior class made a lot of money,” Fletcher said. “This fundraiser helped us get out of the negative and into the thousands. Many people contributed to the funds of putting together the meals which saved us money and allowed us to make more money.”
The silent auction at the homecoming meal raised almost $5,000.
