The Girls’ varsity golf team made it to the regional tournament on April 17-18.
“We practiced as much as possible,” Sophomore Maria San Narciso Gonzales said. “We would start off putting and then we practiced driving the ball.”
Gonzales said the girls team had a good season this year, although the boys didn’t make it as far they did good as well
“We didn’t do the best as a, but individually we did pretty well,” junior Ty Cantrell said.
As the season went on, both teams saw their shots increase.
“When we started my shots were really good,” Gonzales said.
The girls team improved on their personal bests.
“The kids were great,” Coach Monty Clay said. “They did their best.”
Clay said the team showed great improvement this season.
“We practiced hard and worked in the hitting net and at the course,” Clay said. “We even did a little video of each player to correct mistakes.”
Girls placed first at district while boys placed sixth.
“Our boys team definitely improved,” Cantrell said.
Cantrell said their shots increased and better.
