After two years of waiting, the Netflix series “Emily in Paris: Part One” season four has finally returned. Released on Aug. 15, the show comes back to its viewers to continue Emily’s journey in the city of love.
Directed by Andy Fleming, said part two of the show will be released on Sept. 12. He nor Netflix have yet to confirm if season four will be the last, but spectators hope to accompany Emily for one last ride.
Part one starts of with a TikTok video that went viral for exposing Emily’s, the main character’s, personal life. The video goes back to the end of season three where Gabriel and Camille’s wedding was to take place, but didn’t after Camille exposed Emily’s secret love towards him. Not only does this video cause tremendous troubles toward her personal life, but also her professional life.
This is where the real show begins given that Alfie, whom she was formally dating, was no longer with Emily when he found out the truth. In season three Alfie and Emily had done an ad for a company that Emily was working with. This comes back and punches them in the face in the new season since the company uses Alfie and Emily as the ad couple.
Throughout the season Emily is stuck in a love triangle between Alfie and Gabriel, but along with that her job is also on the line. This is not the only problem that she faces because Camille is still in the picture.
It can be seen that Emily deals with a lot throughout this show. The audience gets to see how she handles each situation even when it seems impossible for her. And that may be one of the qualities that fans enjoy about Emily. She never gives up and pushes through each situation.
Although in this season it is hard for Emily to choose between Gabriel, whom she secretly loves, or Alfie, who she also has feelings for. However, she managed to make a hard choice.
Another topic in the show is the clothes. Costume designer Marylin Fitoussi has done a sensational job with theming the clothes to each setting. With her Paris-based costumes she has managed to gain her first Emmy nomination.
Throughout the show viewers can also see how Emily’s language and cultural barriers have deeply developed. Compared to the first season where she was basically judged for not knowing how to speak French at all, she manages to adapt to her new home.
The season has viewers on a whole roller coaster ride as we see Emily experience heartbreak, love and work issues.
Consequently, “Emily in Paris: Part One” is a show that leaves spectators through an emotional ride. This show is excellent for viewers who love fashion and foreign drama-comedy.
