The Ladycats basketball team started off the season 7-6, defeating Holliday, Vernon Northside, Midway Alvord, Bethesda Christian and Munday.
Head coach Tyler Owen said practices look different this year than they have in previous years.
”I want our practices to be competitive and physical. We need to work on being in uncomfortable situations so we can learn to fight and overcome when things are not going our way.”
Owen said the team will have a different approach this season.
”This year I want to prioritize accountability and supporting one another to create a culture of trust and excellence. By setting small, measurable goals. I hope we can stay motivated and aligned with our ultimate objectives, which is reaching our ceiling,” Owen said.
The team has different objectives for this season.
”My goal for this season is to maximize our potential by committing to consistent effort in practice, pushing ourselves to improve every day and executing our best possible performance in every game,” Owen said.
Senior Malia Jones said because it is her last year playing, she has reasonable goals for this season.
”One of my main goals is to get to the playoffs and be second in district. Our tougher opponents are Nocona and Windthorst but I have a good feeling about this year,” Jones said.
