BRIGHT SPOTS: Freshman Noah Reneau said their defense is strong.
“Our defence was good at the beginning of the year and has done nothing but improve,” Reneau said. “We have come a long way this year.”
INSIDE SCOOP: At the beginning of the season the teams goal was to get better at running their offensive plays. Freshman Tanner Deerinwater said they have surpassed their goal.
“Even though we could do better on offense, we have done so much better.” Deerinwater said. “We actually set plays now and score points.”
COACH’S VIEW: Coach Monty Clay said he is proud of how far the team has come and their ability to play as a team.
“At first our boys had trouble playing as a team but over time they have grown close and pick each other up even if they are down,” Clay said. “These boys play hard, never complain, and have learned their individual roles which has helped us succeed. I am proud of Reed Truette, he has had to play all positions and he has done an amazing job at it.”
ATHLETE’S VIEW: Freshman Reed Truette said all of the hard work pays off.
“It’s challenging learning all of the plays and different positions but in the end it’s worth it,” Truette said. “Putting my teams needs above mine is the key to success.”
