OVERALL: The junior varsity girls basketball team finished the season with an overall record of nine wins and 11 losses.
DISTRICT: The team’s district record was three wins and five losses.
BRIGHT SPOTS: This JV team has improved since the beginning of the season, according to freshman Lyndee McCord.
“Our defense has gotten a lot stronger,” McCord said. “Many of us have also gotten more aggressive.”
INSIDE SCOOP: According to sophomore Jocelyn Tedrow there were very few teams in the district.
“We do not have a lot of teams to play so we have played Seymour multiple times,” Tedrow said. “We have played well and beat Seymour three out of four times.”
COACH’S VIEW: Although the team has some weaknesses, they also have strengths, said Coach Haley Owen.
“Even though we are not great shooters, we are getting better,” Owen said. “But the players have good hustle, effort, and a strong defense.”
