With the softball season approaching Coach Kent Kyle said he has many expectations for the team, after their performance last year.
“This season I am expecting us to improve on the journey we had last year,” Kyle said. “I believe the team will be stronger and deeper in talent.”
The number of girls signed up to play softball has increased.
“We have well over 20 girls wanting to play and I am excited,” Kyle said. “To become the program we want to become, we need to have these numbers to develop more talent.”
After the success within the softball program last year, junior Addy Peters said that their previous accomplishments will give the team the courage to go further this year.
“I feel like we will do way better than last year because we gained a lot more people,” Peters said. “Our connection is also stronger.”
According to Kyle, the girls are going to have to compete for a position on the field.
“I’m going to have tryouts for each position, and changes within the team could be fluid,” Kyle said. “No one has a definite spot.”
Sophomore Brilee Canada said she thinks that they will do well this season with the whole team, excluding a couple girls, are experienced
“I think our softball team should be really talented this year,” Canada said. “We have a lot of experienced girls playing, and there are many of them that can play anywhere on the field.”
