Every year around the same time the Pumpkin Patch is hosted in front of the First United Methodist Church. On Oct 2, pre – K through first grade students went on a field trip to experience it.
“It’s a fun experience for the kids,” Pre -K teacher Miriam Knobloch said. “They get to hear a story.”
In addition to the story, there was a bounce house for the kids to play on.
“I liked the bouncy house,” pre -K student Juliette Schench said.
While half of them were on the bounce house, the other half decorated pumpkins with stickers.
“I enjoy watching the kids have so much fun decorating their little pumpkins,” kindergarten teacher Renea Getts said. “They are always so excited to have their very own pumpkin!”
The kindergartners went for 45 minutes to do their festivities.
“I liked the bounce house the best,” kindergartner Tate Begley said. “I also liked decorating my little pumpkin with tiny stickers.”
The teachers and the kids have been going to the patch for at least the past five years.
“It’s not hard taking them every year,” First Grade teacher Tiarra Truette said. “It’s a lot of fun.”
Stickers of different sizes were available for the first graders to decorate the pumpkins.
“I liked playing in the bouncy house and on the playground.” first grader Zane Sherill said, “I put a big spider and a big cat on my pumpkin.”
