FFA members have been learning about the parts of animals, working on welding projects and participating in spring contests. Currently, the students are learning about the anatomy of animals so that in the future, if they want to become a farmer or butcher, they have the knowledge to do so.
“The students in ag are learning about the cuts of beef, pork and lamb and what parts of the animal they come from,” sponsor Ryan Crafton said.
Freshman Kynleigh Schroeder said she also enjoys FFA. “I have friends in there, and I learn a lot about animals,” Schroeder said. “It helps me understand more about them and what I would need to do in the future if I pursued a job for things like that.”
Crafton said the students are excelling in welding.
“In welding, students are finishing up projects and practicing metal inert gas welding,” Crafton said.
FFA members are also preparing for their career development events.
“FFA members have livestock CDE area contest on April 8,” Crafton said.
