Construction begins on new building

Construction of the high school building has begun and is projected to be done by the start of the 2016-17 school year. Superintendent C.D. Knobloch said he believes it will be done on time.

“If the weather doesn’t cause any problems and we have no delays, I think it will be done when it is supposed to be,” Mr. Knobloch said.

The construction began July 13 and has been on schedule since then. Currently, construction superintendent Eddy Bauer and his construction crew are clearing out rubble and preparing to lay the foundation.

“The rubble will be taken to different places,” Mr. Bauer said. “The concrete will be taken to a recycling plant in Wichita Falls and the steele will be taken to a scrap metal place in Wichita Falls.”

  • Install utilities: September 11, 2015
  • Finish installing utilities: September 24, 2015
  • Begin electrical installation: June 25, 2015
  • End electrical installation: September 7, 2015
  • Begin building foundation: September 2, 2015
  • End building foundation: December 2, 2015
  • Begin building first floor outer shell: October 29, 2015
  • Finish outer shell of first floor: December 28, 2015
  • Begin second floor outer shell: November 4, 2015
  • Finish outer shell for second floor: December 11, 2015
  • Install roof: November 9, 2015
  • Finish roof: January 25, 2016
  • Begin installation of the interior of the first floor: November 9, 2015
  • End installation of interior of first floor: April 7, 2016
  • Install interior of second floor: November 23, 2015
  • End installing interior of second floor: April 15, 2016
  • Install wood flooring of the stage and auditorium: February 12, 2016
  • End installation of wood floors in auditorium and stage: February 25, 2016
  • Install stage curtain: March 31, 2016
  • Finish stage curtain: April 1, 2016
  • Install auditorium seats: February 26, 2016
  • Finish auditorium seating: March 3, 2016
  • Start renovations: April 18, 2016
  • End renovations: May 18, 2016
  • Begin final inspections and activities: January 26, 2016
  • End final inspections and activities: July 28, 2016
  • Re-install flag pole and cannon: June 8, 2016
  • Install paving: April 28, 2016
  • Stamp names into sidewalk paving: June 8, 2016
  • Finish names on sidewalk: June 14, 2016
