The FCCLA organization hosted a Valentine’s breakfast meeting for all members this morning.
FCCLA sponsor Donette Odom said the meeting had a variety of options for students.
“During our meeting students were served pancakes, eggs, bacon, fruit tray and different types of juices,” Odom said. “Although the meeting comes with food, the main point is have the chance to spend time with the FCCLA members.”
Having a fulfilling breakfast can be rewarding, said FCCLA member Chloe Hundley.
“I was excited for our meeting because breakfast is my favorite type of food,” Hundley said. “There’s something about a yummy start of the day that can really set the mood for the rest of the day.”
FCCLA member Chevy Wallace said she was excited to start talking with other FCCLA members.
“Enjoying sausage and biscuits at a breakfast meeting is a easy way to mix business with a bit of fun,” Wallace said. “I couldn’t wait to hear about all the new topics we were discussing.”
The meeting was a combination of discussion and indulgence, said FCCLA member Kayden Cornell.
“It was fun to discuss with my fellow members about how we can bring the community together as a whole,” she said, “but I was also very excited to eat some pancakes.”
Odom said she wanted to talk about future projects with the members.
“During this meeting we hoped to discuss an end-of-the year trip to the Renaissance Fair and the water gardens,” she said. “We also wanted to discuss about future fundraisers to help earn money for our organization.”
FCCLA President Estefani Zea Monroy said she wants things in the organization actually get done instead of just being discussed.
“I wanted to talk about future plans because last year we had no opportunities to discuss the trip to the Renaissance Fair,” she said. “I hope that this year we actually go and that more people get the chance to participate in this field trip because last time we went, there were only six of us.”
FCCLA member Jocelyn said she wanted to do more fundraisers.
“We need to organize more fundraisers so our organization will have more money for our trips and activities,” Tedrow said. “We were trying to do a fundraiser last semester but the timing didn’t work out.”
