Two Decembers ago I went to Las Vegas to watch a Bruno Mars concert. My family and I enjoyed it so much we decided to get tickets for his tour “The Romantic” in Arlington. He played all of his new songs except for one which was “Nothing Left.” He also played some of his old songs like “Uptown Funk.”
His openers were really good, and I actually knew who they were. His first opener was DJ PeeWee, better known as his Silk Sonic partner, “Anderson Paak.” He was really funny and played songs from different eras including “Fein” for the 2020s era. Leon Thomas was the second opener, and I knew him from his acting role in the Nickelodeon show “Victorious.” My favorite song he sang was “MUTT.”
I had floor tickets in section B, so I was really close to him. He was dancing the whole time, and it showed how he much he cares to put on a show for his fans. During the show he has a part where he actually interacts with his fans. He puts them on the big screen and sings to them. He calls it the “Angel Baby Cam” and is basically calling his fans beautiful.
His performance was amazing, but if I’m being honest, I liked the one in Las Vegas better. It was a smaller venue, so it felt like I was actually in a room with him. “The Romantic” is a stadium tour, so it’s a lot bigger with way more people. The only thing bad about the Vegas one is that he didn’t have his new album out yet so it was just his older songs. I really like his old songs, but his new album is arguably just as good.
Overall, his concert was a 10/10. I loved every second of it and had a lot of fun. I have been a Bruno Mars fan for a very long time. I remember, when I was around 4 or 5, my mom would put Bruno music videos on the TV while she cleaned. My sister and I would dance and recreate the music videos. My all time favorite song is “Uptown Funk.” I’m so grateful for having the chance to see Bruno in person two times.
