Quill and Scroll journalism honor society inducted nine students who met the criteria April 30; Juan Alba, Zech Allen, Sam Gilmore, Chloe Hibbs, Kori Keeter, Jake Strenski, Adelyn Harvey, Kate Fletcher and Brooke Smith.
Alba said he is happy being inducted into Quill and Scroll because it is a big achievement.
“I think it’s a big honor because it shows the hard work and dedication that I put into my tasks,” Alba said.
Junior Kate Fletcher said it felt good to be inducted into the society.
“Since this is my second year in video tech, it shows that I am getting recognition for the work I have to put in to meet deadlines and do my best,” Fletcher said.
Quill and Scroll gives kids the recognition they work for while still doing well in their other classes and sports, sophomore Zech Allen said.
“I keep my grades up no matter what, and Quill and Scroll recognizes it,” Allen said.
Junior Adelyn Harvey said being inducted makes her feel accomplished in an elective.
“I get my work done on time, help others out and make sure my grades are good,” Harvey said. “It’s nice to be recognized for all the hard work we do in journalism.”
Harvey said she definitely saw herself doing something like journalism; although she wouldn’t choose it for her future.
“I’ll always know how to write and make a newspaper, so I can work at a newspaper place if I ever need a job,” Harvey said.
Hibbs did not plan on staying in yearbook this year, so she never saw herself doing something such as being inducted to Quill and Scroll.

“Quill and Scroll has a lot of achievements and is always a good organization to be a part of for one’s future,” Muniz said.

“The reason I did not see myself in this is because it was unexpected but now that I am joining I guess I am stuck, but that does not mean good things can’t come from it, so it is a good opportunity to be exposed to,” Hibbs said.
Senior Devanny Muniz said it is nice to be able to bring new members in because she has been in Quill and Scroll since her sophomore year.
“It is nice to move up and on to new things. Quill and Scroll is a fun new experience,” Muniz said “It is special because it is a small intimate group and recognizes all of our hard work.”
Junior Estefani Zea said she is proud of the added members because she knows how hard they have worked.
“I think our new members will be the future of the organization and are the new role models for any upcoming members in the upcoming year,” Zea said.
Muniz said this year’s inducted members are a good group that she is proud of and is happy to watch them grow over the years and see them succeed.
“Quill and Scroll has a lot of achievements and is always a good organization to be a part of for one’s future,” Muniz said. “If you keep good grades and do your best, you can succeed and join the community.”
