“This year I was looking forward to making it past region,” she said.
Bogar was the only senior to do powerlifting.
“Being the only senior, I was able to guide the underclassman,” Bogar said. “I really felt like a leader this year. I remember when I first started out my sophomore year. I had no idea what I was doing, but thanks to the upperclassman my first year went real smooth.”
Athletic director Bradan Ritchey said he is still proud of how far Bogar has come this year.
“It was a great season for her even though region it didn’t go as expected,” Ritchey said.
Sophomore Hunter Hall was the only boy to make it to regional.
“Hunter did really good at region,” Ritchey said. “Even though he didn’t get a medal I am still very proud of how far he has come this year.”
Ritchey said with the number of freshmen that have joined powerlifting, within the next few years he hopes to see success.
“The next couple of years the sport with be better with these young teens,” Ritchey said.
Hall said he had a really fun time at region.
“I was definitely nervous with this being my first time making it to region,” he said. “I was expecting way less from regional, but I actually did really good.”
Ritchey also said this year was a good start after not coaching powerlifting for a while.
“Especially this year since we are in a new league. Everyone did an amazing job.”
