The varsity volleyball team has is halfway through district with a record of 3-3.
Junior Jocelyn Tedrow said they have performed well so far.
“The season has gone pretty well,” Tedrow said. “We’ve had some ups and down but overall it has been fun.” Tedrow said.
Coach Krissa England said the team has struggled with inconsistency this season.
“Sometimes we are really good and sometimes we play really bad,” England said.
Senior Talynn Lowe said she thinks the team still has things to work on.
“Our biggest challenge this season has been our attitudes,” Lowe said. “When we start making mistakes, people start bickering at each other and that makes everything go down hill, and that is something we need to work on.”
The athletes have their own personal goals for this season.
“One of my main goals this season has been to have fun,” senior Serenity Jones said.
England said one of the biggest issues is their mindset.
“The biggest challenge we have faced this year is ourselves,” England said.
Junior Addi Canada said their season began a little slow but they are doing well now.

Lowe said she wants to make the best out of this season since it is her last year to be a part of a team.
“I want to just enjoy this last season with my teammates while I can,” Lowe said.
Tedrow said she had a lot of fun at their game against Nocona.
“Even though we didn’t beat them, we played really well at that game and worked hard as a team to win a set,” Tedrow said.
The team prepares for games by watching film and implementing other team’s tactics into their practices.
“We watch film on district opponents, and we try to do things in practice that those teams are going to do so we are ready,” England said.
Canada said she hopes to end the season with a positive outlook.
“My goal for the team is to end the season with improved attitudes,” Canada said.
Jones said she thinks the team has gotten closer and built a good relationship with each other.
“We try hard to stick together and build each other up,” Jones.
England said she tries to build her athletes up by staying optimistic.
“I try to keep a positive attitude in order to keep them motivated,” England said.
Lowe said she doesn’t want to take any moments for granted.
“For the seniors, we don’t have a lot left and we want to have fun and stay positive in every moment,” Lowe said.
England said the team has improved since the beginning of the season.
“We are working together a little better, we don’t get down on ourselves as quickly and we compete a little better,” England said.
