National Honor Society inducts 10 new members on Oct. 11

The National Honor Society inducted 10 new members into the society on Oct. 11.
The new NHS inductees are Zech Allen, Genavie Carrera, Kate Fletcher, Sam Gilmore, Chloe Hibbs, Kori Keeter, Seth Kinzie, Brynlee Skelton, Jake Strenski, and Ethan Pettibon.
Senior Chase Curry said NHS is an organization that recognizes the importance of academics and other great characteristics.
“I am the president of NHS this year,” Curry said. “It feels great to induct people into this important organization and reward their academics and leadership.”
Curry said NHS teaches students how to be the best version of themselves and for their community.
“NHS teaches those who are in it service, leadership skills, and scholarship,” Curry said.
Sophomore Seth Kinzie said he was excited that he was inducted into NHS.
“I feel like all my hard work paid off and I have a feeling of achievement,” Kinzie said.
Senior Brynlee Skelton said she felt accomplished to be inducted.
“I was not expecting it but I am glad my hard work of studying and keeping up my grades paid off,” Skelton said.
Senior Kassidy Marin said as vice president of NHS, she loved adding new members to such great organization.

Sophomore Chloe Hibbs  said she has been waiting to be inducted into NHS ever since she heard about it.
“I heard about NHS and all the amazing benefits my freshman year, and I have been looking forward to joining ever since,” Hibbs said.
Skelton said she hopes that her college prep can be easier now that she is in NHS.
“I hope that colleges see that I am in NHS and recognize that I am a hard worker and a good student, ” Skelton said.
